Adopt a Library

Shaan Foundation's Akshara Kosh program runs libraries to improve children’s literacy. Children from rural India gain access to a beautiful school library providing fun and interesting children’s books that spark their imaginations and promote a lifelong love of reading. Having fun educational books easily available helps to encourage independent learning, intellectual curiosity, and a lifelong passion for reading.

Our library program has teacher's training and digital classroom components.

Our teacher training involves training on how to properly loan books to students, how to use the children’s books in a classroom setting, and how to get the students involved in the maintenance of their library. The teacher is chosen from the village where the library is set up.

Our digital classroom involves connecting the youth from rural areas to renowned educationist and professionals from leading institutes and companies from the country. The objective of the digital classroom is to:
- provide access to quality education
- provide career counselling and guidance
- bridge the gap between rural and urban education disparity
